After breakfast at your hotel our bilingual guide will transfer you by air conditioned coach for a favela (slum) tour and also to see Projeto Morrinho (Hill Project). In preparations for the World Cup and Olympics many of the favelas have been pacified (police presence), are safe and offer an extremely interesting glimpse into the city’s working class neighborhoods. Your guide will give you an extensive and fascinating history of the favelas along the way. Projeto Morrinho is a miniature replica of the city’s slums which was started by favela youth, simply trying to escape the realities of their day to day life and made famous by a local NGO as well as the documentary, “Morrinho: God Knows Everything but is no Snitch.” Then transfer to your ticketed Olympic event which today could include rowing in Copacabana, rugby in Deodoro or tennis in Barra.
